During his stay in the city of copper, His Excellency first spoke with the management of Serbia Zijin Copper, and then toured the “Veliki Krivelj” open pit, the smelter, the desulphurization plant and the electrolytic refining plant.

This is my first visit to Zijin and I’m very impressed. The company has state-of-the-art technology, advanced management and makes a significant contribution to the economic and social development of the Republic of Serbia. It also represents an important project within the framework of cooperation between our two countries. I’m very happy that production in Serbia Zijin Copper is stable and strong, so I want to encourage the company to contribute even more to our bilateral relations and work closely with Serbian colleagues for the benefit of the local community. There will be more opportunities for me to visit the company and I look forward to the next meeting – Ambassador Li Ming told “Kolektiv” newspaper.

Ambassador Li Ming took office less than six months ago, in the year that marked the decade of President Xi Jinping’s “Belt and Road” initiative, which promotes peace and cooperation while respecting the principle of equality of all countries.

After handing over the credentials at the beginning of October last year, Li Ming said that Serbia is a heroic country and that he is honored to be the ambassador in our country, noting that generations back, including his parents, knew about Yugoslavia and Serbia.

Serbia and China have built mutual trust and credibility. The cooperation between the two countries is based on deep friendship, and that’s why I believe we have the potential for even closer cooperation – said Li Ming.

During his stay in Bor, Ambassador Li Ming also visited another Zijin company that operates in Bor, namely the “Čukaru Peki” mine.
