SZC. – In an effort to contribute to better and more efficient medical treatment of the local population by supporting public health, Serbia Zijin Copper donated (May 19) a modern ambulance worth six and a half million dinars to the Emergency Department of the Bor Health Center in Bor. The Company undertook to provide the same donation for the Health Center in Majdanpek as soon as possible, so a letter of such intentions was signed at the ceremony of handing over the keys to the new ambulance, held on the plateau in front of the Bor health institution.

This is an important day for the Bor Health Center because we receive a valuable and much-needed ambulance as a gift. I am proud and happy about that, so I want to say a big thank you to the Company Serbia Zijin Copper, which met our needs and allocated considerable funds for the purchase of such a vehicle. For the territory it covers and which is under the jurisdiction of the Health Center in Bor, it is almost superfluous to say how important it is, in the sense of reaching a site at the right time, and in the sense of reaching each of our citizens whose health condition requires emergency medical care. With this gesture, Serbia Zijin Copper once again showed that it is a highly responsible Company, which listens to the needs of the local environment in whose territory it operates and cares about the public health of all citizens, not just its employees. This is not their first donation in the field of health, and I hope it will not be the last – said the director of the Bor Health Center, Dr. Vesna Radosavljevic.

To make the next donation an MRI machine
The mayor of Bor said that the latest donation shows how Serbia Zijin Copper, in addition to doing well and paying good salaries, knows how to be socially responsible, because it also cares about public health. – We are on the right path to making Bor a much better place to live because we are growing economically, the ecology is at a better level than before, and there are such good deeds of our Chinese friends. We continue to work and fight, and I hereby publicly ask the representatives of Serbia Zijin Copper to consider donating next a magnet (magnetic resonance imaging device, A/N) to the Health Center in Bor. The town provided the most modern scanner, ultrasound machine, laparoscopic column, and many instruments, and with the magnet, diagnostics in Bor’s health care institutions would be complete – said Aleksandar Milikić.
As part of corporate social responsibility, Serbia Zijin Copper has so far allocated a total of nearly 12 million dinars for the improvement of health care in the Bor area, and the latest donation will, according to Deputy Director Zou Gang, contribute to better and more efficient medical treatment of the local population.

The goal of the Company is “development of mining for the benefit of the community”, so we are very committed to supporting the development of local communities where we operate as well as to promoting employment. At the end of April, the Company employed more than six thousand people. Out of that number, close to 5,900 employees are citizens of Serbia, i.e. the local population. Their average monthly net salary is more than 105 thousand dinars. The Company also does business with more than a thousand domestic suppliers and contractors, so the number of directly and indirectly created workplaces is around 8,000 – said Zou Gang.

The ceremony in the Bor Health Center was attended by the leaders of Bor and Majdanpek, Aleksandar Milikić and Dragan Popović, and the director of the Majdanpek health institution “Dr. Veroljub Cakić” Dragan Fudulović, who signed a letter of intent to provide the same donation for the Health Center in Majdanpek with the Manager of the Majdanpek Branch of Serbia Zijin Copper Branislav Tomić.

Assistance in all areas necessary for Majdanpek
The president of the municipality of Majdanpek, Dragan Popović, pointed out that Serbia Zijin Copper provides assistance not only to health but also in sports, education and other areas that are necessary for the functioning of a town. – We have provided four medical vehicles and a new laboratory, as well as devices for physical therapy to the health institution in Majdanpek. We invest a lot in health care, because only if we have healthy residents can we plan for the future – said Popović.
Before the symbolic handover of the keys to the Bor Health Center, the head of the Emergency Department, Dr. Vesna Bućan Mihajlović, showed the journalists the equipment and devices in the new ambulance.

I have been working in healthcare for 33 years and I can safely say that a vehicle equipped like this has not been seen in our Department so far. It will certainly contribute to faster, better, and improved provision of services to all citizens because medical devices include: a defibrillator with monitoring, an ECG device for monitoring vital functions of patients and timely response in case of sudden cardiac arrest, oxygen therapy device, oximeter, aspirator, immobilization set and more. I am especially happy that the ambulance is equipped with a “vest” for traffic and industrial trauma – said Bućan Mihajlović.

The Deputy Director of Serbia Zijin Copper Jason Zhang handed over the keys to the new ambulance to the director of the Bor Health Center, and after that, all the guests, accompanied by the host, visited the Emergency Department.
